Security

Our early learning center is secured so that only authorized staff and families may enter.

Medications

A parental and/or doctor’s authorization must be given depending on the medication administered. All medications must be in their original bottle and box. Expired medications will not be given to children. A medication log will be kept when medicine of any sort is administered. All medication is stored securely out of reach of children.

Authorization

Every family provides a list of persons they authorize to pick-up their child. Those people will need to provide photo identification.

Sanitation

Our center is cleaned daily by a professional custodian with safe cleaning products.

Qualifications

We have trained, nurturing teachers who either have earned a Child Development Associate (CDA) certificate or a college degree in early childhood education or child development. Our education staff are all Mandated Reporters through the Department of Children and Family Services (DCFS) and have taken training through Gateways for Opportunity. Every school year we are mandated to have 15 hours of training in child development to continue our education.

Criminal background checks are required through DCFS to ensure that each team member is trustworthy. All our staff have a completed DCFS file, which is monitored by our Representative of that agency. This includes bi-annual physicals, immunization records, proof of education, Professional Development Report, and First Aid/CPR certificate.

Emergencies

We conduct monthly fire drills with the children, as well as quarterly tornado and intruder drills. The children learn from their teachers that we need to practice and learn how and why we need to be safe.
